9th KWF Worldcup Team India with Shri Ratan Tata

9th KWF World Karate Championship was held in Tokyo, Japan on 10th Nov 2019

Every two years the KWF Headquarters in Japan announces a world karate championship wherein all member countries of KWF participate. The 9th KWF World Karate Championship was held in Tokyo, Japan on 10th Nov 2019. The Indian contingent had participated with 21 members under the supervision and leadership of Shihan Sachin Chavan as the Chief Instructor and Leader from India.

Shihan Sachin Chavan and Sensei Nehal Chavan had officiated in the 9th KWF World Karate Championship in Japan.

The Indian team was represented by Shihan Sachin Chavan, Sensei Nehal Chavan, Sensei Dinesh Mistry, Sensei Siddharth Desai, Aditya Bhosale, Pranay Manoj, Nandini Vaghani, Namrata Vaghani, Isha Pednekar, Kairav Chavan, Neel Mistry, Aaryan Shasane, Dyutika Raut, Anvesha Bagdi, Charvi Malik, Sushant Mondhe, Janhavi Ayare, Shresht Acharya, Karan Sadare, Parisee Chauhan and Pauravi Khare.

The Team received the opportunity to seek the blessings of great Industrialist Padma Vibhushan Ratan Tata Ji, prior their visit to Tokyo, Japan.

 

8th KWF WORLD CONFERENCE and 8th KWF WORLD KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP in MALTA, from 26th SEPT to 30th SEPT 2017

The Indian team of 15 karate athletes participated in the above event, out of them 3 qualified till the finals at the 8th KWF World Cup.

Sachin Chavan – 4th place in Men’s Individual kata for veteran B category 

Kairav Chavan – 4th place in Boy’s Individual kumite event for under 10 years

Neel Mistry – 4th place in Boy’s Individual kata event for under 12 years

Other team members who participated are Nehal Chavan, Pranita Warankar, Anushka Subhedar, Aditya Bhosale, Pranay Manoj, Harsh Bhosale, Lekha Alve, Isha Pednekar, Yash Hardikar, Swara Nayak, Rashi Nayak, Aryan Gor.

KWF Headquarters conducted the technical examinations which were presided by the Grandmaster, Deputy Grandmaster and the KWF Saiko Shihankai panel. The KWF World summit was held in Malta and attended by the chief instructors of all member countries.

Shihan Sachin Chavan qualified as an “A” level international instructor, judge and examiner under the panel, he is the first Indian to pass such an examination under an international panel.

Sensei Nehal Chavan qualified as “D” level international instructor, judge and examiner followed with Ms. Pranita Warankar, Ms. Anushka Subhedar, Mr Aditya Bhosale and Mr Yash Hardikar qualifying as “D” level international instructor and judge which entitles them to assist in KWF India organisation as an assistant instructor and officiate for various championship conducted within the National federation – KWF India.

 

7th KWF WORLD CONFERENCE and 7th KWF WORLD KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP in CHITOSE, HOKKAIDO JAPAN from the 25th SEPT to 27th SEPT 2015.

The Indian team comprising of 11 athletes had participated in the above event wherein India under the leadership of Chief Coach Mr. Sachin Chavan won the Silver medal in Under 17 years age category for Individual Boys Kata event. All athletes performed well, some qualified till the semi final round in the WORLD CUP amidst 27 participating countries.

The KWF International Headquarters had organized an International Technical Seminar/ Master Camp cum 6th KWF World Karate Championships from the 18th to the 20th Oct 2013 at Ringsted Sports Centre, Ringsted City, in Denmark, Europe.

The Indian team performed well at the International event.

In August 2012, Shihan Sachin Chavan along with his student Siddharth Desai had been to Japan, to train under the legends of KWF karate and appear for Dan grading and technical examinations.

In the 12 days visit both of them had been extensively trained in the art of Budo karate personally by Grandmaster Mikio Yahara – the Chief Instructor & Supreme Technical Director of KWF, Shihan Akihito Isaka – Deputy Chief Instructor of KWF, Shihan Sakae Ibusuki – Senior Instructor of KWF, Sensei Shinichi Okada and Sensei Masamichi Otsuka – Head quarter instructor of KWF.

In April 2012, Shihan Sachin Chavan was selected to represent India in the Asian Karate Federation Referee and Judge examinations conducted at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He successfully qualified as a Kumite Judge – “B”; becoming the 1st karate instructor from the state of Maharashtra to pass the 7.1 version of WKF Kumite rules examinations in Malaysia.

In addition to the above KWF India has gained a good reputation in the country as a legitimate karate organisation promoting value based, modern scientific training in the art and sport of Karate – Do.

KWF India has produced many karate athletes who have bagged medals at various Championships.

CORPORATE ACHIEVEMENT:

Shihan Sachin Chavan has been training the officers & field staff of the Maharashtra State Forest Department in UNARMED COMBAT under the CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM initiative undertaken by the management of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali (East), Mumbai. His training program has helped boost the morale of the force and empowered them with the requisite knowledge and techniques in Self Defense, which in  Field postings, helps them overcome life threatening situations with relative calm and preparedness. Training does help, to curb the symptoms of stress at work thereby enhancing productivity and good health.
Shihan Sachin Chavan conducts exclusive Training programs for Corporate organisations, addressing their core issues on Human resources. Employees of leading Information Technology firms, Insurance companies, Production houses, Manufacturing Industry, Pharma companies and Banking industry have benefited from his training.
KWF India endorses SELF DEFENSE training for the Women of India in order to Empower them with enhanced confidence and life skills that can help them move independently in society and safeguard themselves in times of need.

Shihan Sachin Chavan has conducted many such training programs for working women, college students, professionals, senior citizens, housewives by imparting training in housing societies as well.
