Strengthened human relationships would be the overall goal.

The Engine
- Sachin Vijay Chavan is the founder and CEO of BUJUTSU — a premiere institute for training and research in martial arts and the chief instructor and leader at Karatenomichi World Federation India, here he is recognised as the KWF International Shihan (Member of the International Karate Masters Technical Committee).

- He is solely responsible for taking the art and science of karate to heights both at the national and international levels. His pattern of teaching is so that it caters to all — he is known to teach karate as a sport and a traditional art form. Versatility and range are therefore, his strong suits and his students’ as well.
The Crew
- October of 2023 marks the time for Pranay, Rohan, Isha, Kairav, Kabir, Vrisheen, Aneesh to perform karate as Team India at the 10th KWF World Conference and 10th KWF World Karate Championship in Tokyo, Japan. Their ages range from 11-22. Fuelled by years of training and the zest to bring home laurels, the team continues to prepare to the best of their abilities and beyond. Sensei Nehal, the head of administration at KWF India and Bujutsu, will be officiating in the 10th KWF World Cup.
The Training
- The year-long training covers technical and tactical skills wherein various techniques are taught alongside the following of a syllabus covering components that the members will be tested based on at the World Cup. Strength is worked on.
- Environmental factors are also considered. Members train on traditional Japanese-style flooring with air conditioning on, also in the dojo which is a non-air-conditioned physical space where humidity and heat are at play and outdoors as well. Training is endurance-oriented.
- Mental, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing are devotedly looked after. Psychotherapy takes place, physiotherapy sessions are arranged and the expertise of a licensed nutritionist is also sought. A wholesome approach towards fitness and wellness is adopted.
- As the day of departure nears, amidst extensive training, a 2-3 days’ retreat in unconventional places — away from tourist destinations and into the less discovered heart of nature — is planned to enhance team-building while instructors take note of members’ conduct outdoors, eating habits and sleep schedules as training for themselves to be better supervisors of the team abroad.
- Thus, ready to conquer, Team India progresses as champions; of the nation and for life.
